Extension of steel safeguard

On 25 June, it was announced that the EU would extend the steel safeguard measure for a further two years until June 2026. This decision was taken in accordance with an investigation which showed that the safeguard measure is still necessary to prevent or remedy serious injury to the EU steel industry. German definition of green steel

This standard, developed by the German steel industry association WV Stahl and the country’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate, was launched at the Hannover Messe on April 22. The LESS certification enables the comparison of emissions from traditional blast furnaces and electric arc furnaces during the transition to hydrogen-based production.
